"Music in Motion"
Tuesday, August 23, 7:30 p.m., and Friday, August 26, 7:30 p.m.
This colorful program portrays the drama of operatic expression, the movement of ballet and waves of sound. Program is performed twice.

The passion of the tango is combined with the searing emotion of composer-in-residence Jake Heggie's meditations on love. Program is performed twice.

Piazzolla meets Heggie and the very young Brahms meets the mature Beethoven in a concert of timeless and timely music. Program is performed twice.

"A Return Evening with Otto Lang" (one performance only)
Wednesday, August 24, 7:30 p.m.
In his eagerly awaited return to Orcas Island, Otto Lang reflects on a lifetime in film. Program includes a performance of the Bach/Brahms "Chaconne" by Jon Kimura Parker. Hosted by Adam Stern, the evening concludes with a showing of Lang's classic Hollywood thriller "Five Fingers."

 

"Orcastrations - A Musical Journey around the World with Martin Friedmann"
Thursday, August 25, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 28, 7:30 p.m.
This "Orcas-trations concert" features Festival favorite Martin Friedmann with personal reminiscences of a lifetime of musical wanderlust, interspersed with his own slides and videos. Program is performed twice.

 

Family Matinee Concert-"Old MacDonald's Violin" (one performance only)
Sunday, August 28, 1:00 p.m.
Violinist Monique Mead delights young and old with the fun of traditional songs and a classical take on folk music favorites.
