Our Mission and Who We Are
As we celebrate our ninth season in 2006, OICMF’s continued mission is to share the joy of chamber music with the Orcas Island community in an annual festival, featuring creative and inspiring programs in a genial setting.

Each year we invite internationally renowned classical musicians who are committed to communicating their love of great chamber music through concerts, educational talks, and performances for seniors and children. Since its debut in 1998, OICMF has gained a reputation for providing sold-out audiences with world-class music, all within a friendly, relaxed, family oriented atmosphere.

OICMF has held performance in the charming and intimate 213-seat hall
of the Orcas Theatre and Community Center, in the historic 105-seat sanctuary of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, and The Living Room, all located in Eastsound, the island’s largest village.

Our Inspiration
OICMF Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann has visited Orcas Island since she was a child, and found her inspiration for the Festival in the unparalleled beauty of the region.

Aloysia is a violinist and violist; her husband Jon Kimura Parker is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist.

Based in Houston, Texas most of the year, they spend as much time as possible at their Orcas home with their young daughter, Sophie.
